This was the BIOGAS Convention Digital 2022

The BIOGAS Convention is an indispensable forum for exchange in the biogas industry. In 2022, it took place one week before the partner trade fair EnergyDecentral.

From 7-11 November 2022, the online conference focussed on the potential of biogas in Germany's and Europe's current energy supply, bioenergy policy and the opportunities and challenges facing the industry. Biogas provides reliable and climate-friendly heat, electricity and biomethane, making us independent of energy imports. But there is still a lot of room for improvement. What needs to happen now to tap the great potential? The international part ran in parallel from 8-10 November 2022 with English lectures on EU policy, with best-practice reports and the presentation of innovative technologies.

With over 4,700 members, the German Biogas Association is the largest biogas industry interest group in Germany and Europe. It represents manufacturers, plant constructors and both agricultural and industrial biogas plant operators throughout Germany. The Association's work is aimed at expanding biogas production and use for supplying electricity, heat and fuel nationwide, strengthening Germany as an industrial location and ensuring effective climate protection.
